Offshore renewable energy is on the rise with new emerging markets and an increasing number of projects. The many hundreds of gigawatts of offshore renewably energy capacity to be installed in the coming decades is an oppurtunity for the offshore energy. The biggest off shore renewable energy resource is Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) which uses the natural tempature difference in tropical oceans between the surface water and deep water to generate power.

OTEC Symposium

The International OTEC Symposium serves as the largest annual gathering of people working on Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion. The symposium gathers OTEC industry experts, NGO’s and governments from all over the world to discuss the state of the industry. This year’s 4th International OTEC symposium will be held in the Netherlands on 25 and 26 October 2016. The symposium will be co-hosted by the Offshore Energy 2016 and the TU DelftFabien Cousteau is the keynote speaker at the OTEC Symposium.

The symposium will offer participants the opportunity to learn about the latest OTEC technology and market developments, while connecting with the OTEC industry and market.
