Prof. Ad van Wijk, TU Delft
Ad van Wijk described a future where our cars will be a powerplant. He illustrated that fuel cell cars could power the world. In some countries housholds already use solar power to produce hydrogen to drive their cars. The future of mobility will be clean, smart, connected and automatic.
Arnold Bos, Lux Research
Arnold Bos gave us an outlook of biofuels in a low oil price environment. Although, investments are cancelled and technology developers shift away from biofuels, strategies can be implemented for profitable biobased companies. These strategies boil down to feedstock diversification, market flexibility and capital light projects. This holds true for incumbent and early stage companies as wel. Arnold illustrated all three strategy options with many good examples.
Roebyem Anders, Sungevity
Roebyem Anders made a case that solar will be the biggest source of energy by 2050. Technology development, cost and market adoption all support the rapid growth of solar energy. Sungevity’s approach is based on software innovation to combine the data of different value chain partners. In addition a solar community is build to make solar cool!
