The EU has high hopes for the transition to a circular economy, where the value of products, materials and resources is maintained in the economy as long as possible and waste minimised, to be an essential contribution to the long trem competitiveness of Europe and a resource efficient economy. Businesses and consumers are key in driving this process and authorities can enable this transition. Much has been said and written about a circular versus a lineair economic model, and huge savings projected for businesses, as well as ambitious targets on emissions and job creation.

Strong drivers like consumer preferences moving away from ownership, advances in technology and mobilising regulation underpin the circular transition. Barriers exist too; not only regulatory but also access to finance, technical knowledge and innovative business models and entrepreneurship. Where the rubber hits the road is with innovative business models and entrepreneurship and after our events on energy and bio based we were able to line up some great speakers on the circular economy and its challenges and opportunities.

As in our previous events on energy and bio based, we have a great line up of speakers to provide insights in the fundamental drivers of circular economy, as well as entrepreneurial opportunities.
