Edward Hissink, Co-founder of Fresh-r and creative director at an innovation agency explains us more about the company and their game changing and innovative technology. “It all started with my uncle, Noor van Andel, who was a physicist. He invented an advanced technology using fine copper wire, to exchange heat between air flows”.15-20 years later, the company, Fresh-r, was founded and completely addresses todays customer needs, such as wifi connection and continuous monitoring. The Fresh-r installations let fresh air into the building whilst keeping the temperature the same. This reduces the need to heat or cool to nearly zero. The product monitors the amount of C02 in your environment and purifies it if necessary. Moreover, the Fresh-rs are ready for the IoT, by using sensors, which provide information about your air quality anywhere and anytime.

Current Focus

Currently Fresh-r is focussing on 2 pathways. The first concerns the development of a working prototype to use their service in schools. Unfortunately the air quality (C02 levels) in schools is poor, which has a negative effect on the health and the learning performance. The aim is to offer their service to schools in a circular concept, which means that schools will only pay for fresh air and not the products itself. To achieve this goal, Fresh-r is searching for partners who are willing to invest in their installations.

Fresh-r’s second concern is to integrate their product into energy neutral houses. The installations of Fresh-r could be the solution in the transition towards zero gas heating connections. Their solution makes ventilation decentral and demand driven, which could not only provide energy savings, but also savings in heating and ventilation infrastructure.

Clean Tech Delta and Fresh-r

Edward states that the ambitions of Clean Tech Delta and Fresh-r fully align. He hopes that together with CTD we can find partners that are willing to collaborate in their visions. Moreover, next month Clean Tech Delta will introduce Fresh-r to Woonstad Rotterdam to explore opportunities in the field of District heating.
