Their mission: heat homes with cloud servers. Free heat for everyone. Sustainable and affordable computing power for companies and researchers

Nerdalize, a startup from Delft, has a mission: to provide free heat for households and sustainable and affordable computing power for companies and researchers. To do this they developed an innovative heating system, based on cloud servers, which is installed into households. The residual heat of servers is easily used to heat water so you can take a hot shower with the heat produced by for example biological computations. To install the system in the first 42 households, Nerdalize started a crowd investment campaign: www.nerdalize.com/join

In short Nerdalize solves two large problems: Households save on their gas bill and  datacenters become a lot more sustainable. This is necessary, since the worldwide energy consumption of datacenters drastically increases. Together datacenters already have higher CO2 emissions than the aviation industry. The unique Nerdalize concept has a number of benefits. Households save up to 300 euros a year on their gas bill and companies don’t pay for building and maintaining a datacenter, saving them up to 50% on their cloud expenses. And together we save up to 3t  of CO2 per household per year, which is about 1/3rd of the total CO2 emissions of a household!

After a first pilot, together with Eneco, Nerdalize is now ready to roll out their system. They started a crowd investment campaign to provide the first 42 houses in the Netherlands with free server-heat! Do you join their mission? Go to www.nerdalize.com/join
