On the 24th of August alderman Struijvenberg of the city of Rotterdam welcomed SuGu in the Merwe-Vierhaven (M4H) by handing over the key of the location to the organisation of SuGu.

The historical workshop (1929) is turned into a scalable production facility for manufacturing companies who work with biobased plastic and circular design. These businesses all make custom made circular and sustainable products. Examples of such products are: charger for phones, large format 3D prints, plastic design furniture and small windmill. Companies located at SuGu; SuGu Machinery and Materials, Transmare Compounding, 010Works, CEAD Engineering, STRS, Studio Carola Sea, Label Aleph, Wind Challenge, Koen Middelkoop Design and Innovation Centre Plastics (ICK).
